Our Happy Place Founder Interviews Khan Academy Founder

Our Happy Place founder, Stacey Tank, recently interviewed Khan Academy founder, Sal Khan, as part of a MOONSHOT conference dedicated to the future of education. You can watch the full event here.

During the interview, Sal shared how the idea for Khan Academy was inspired by tutoring he was doing for his cousins. In 2009, he jumped in with both feet, quitting his hedge fund job in California and spending all of his time growing the Khan Academy as a non-profit dedicated to providing free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.

During the interview, Sal shares words of wisdom about the important balance between trying new things to see what sticks – especially early on in a start-up’s life – while also making sure to maintain enough focus to actually get things delivered and drive impact. He also shared his belief in the importance of a clear mission to galvanize an organization towards its north star.
